It's just a bunch of Hocus Pocus!

So it was Halloween and that means costumes, candy, and Hocus Pocus. I love that movie, and that, along with It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Disney, not Depp) have to be watched every year. I keep telling Chase that our future children will be forced to watch all the shows I grew up watching and loving. It's just the way it will be. And by extension, he has to watch and love them all...just wait until Christmas and the list I have for that holiday.

Below are the costumes and because I'm still trying not to eat candy, there's no other mention of that.

This year, I went with an anime theme, as Nausicca from the Miyazaki film, Nausicaa and the Warriors of the Wind. I grew up watching this movie and would make my own costume out of a blanket and tights when I was young, this is the grown up version...

We didn't have a plan for Chase, and maybe I failed as his wife to make him something (or he failed to make a decision), so this was the last minute costume from existing pieces, a gun with no bullets, and the DI...

That's right, my sexy husband is awesomely dressed as Steve Ziszou from The Life Aquatic.

I also made my friend, Jon, an Obi-Wan Kenobi costume, my sewing skills were hard at work after a break. I think I'll have to make something next year for Chase, he has only been on the mending and sewing buttons end of my skills. So here is Obi-Wan's day at the office...

The Force is strong with this one!

Now onward to the next round of holidays and Disneyland in three weeks!!

  1. Nice costume! What is that on your shoulder? A squirrel? Oh and as long as we're on the subject of weird animals, why do your parents have flamingos in their front room? You should have given that Obi-Wan Kenobi costume to Chase! It looks awesome!

    1. Thanks. And I don't know why they have flamingos, because our last name is Crane...don't you think it should be Cranes instead??? It's like a weird anime squirrel-cat-rabbit hybrid.
