What happens in Vegas...is going on this blog.

Chase and I decided to plan a trip for April, as March was a busy month for both of us. It also ended up being a nice break and vacation before we start the moving process (more of that announcement to come).

First, we drove down to Zion's, went up the canyon, and hiked to the Emerald Pools on Saturday.

The next day, we woke up early and drove to the Subway trail. This is not up the main canyon and requires a permit, it's a little more hard-core. The trail takes you through the river, over boulders, and lots of bushwhacking. It was fun and Chase got some amazing pictures. All his great landscapes are available to look at on his Facebook page. Go there and like it (www.facebook.com/chasesmithphotography/). While we were at the Subway, a Chinese man and his daughter came along and I ended up getting to talk to her. They had never been on a hike before and came from China just for the Utah landscape. It's pretty amazing what we have here in Utah.

This is not a fine moment, but Chase thought it was a funny picture.

After our time in Zion's, we drove to Vegas. We spent the first day going to the outlets and walking the Strip. The second day in Vegas, we drove to Hoover Dam, walked out over the new bridge and got some pictures of the dam. Then we drove along Lake Mead to a state park, Valley of Fire. It was actually really amazing and reminded us a lot of Arches. We were there are sunset (photographer's light) with a few other photographers and got some great pictures. We then drove back to Vegas and had some Jack in the Box (obviously).

On Wednesday, we celebrated Chase's birthday with a buffet and crab legs, and met up with my niece and nephew who were also down there. We were ready to head home and back to the fun of Utah on Thursday. It was a good vacation.
